Aboitiz Foods partners with World Vision to nourish communities in Zamboanga del Norte and Misamis Occidental.
Aboitiz Foods, through Pilmico Foods Corporation, has entered a partnership with World Vision Development Foundation, Inc. (World Vision) and Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. to empower the members of Community-Managed Savings and Credit Associations (CoMSCA), a financial initiative introduced by World Vision with more than 200,000 savers across the country.
The partnership, under Aboitiz Foods’ flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program Pilmico Livelihood Kits, was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing at the Pilmico office in Iligan City. Representing Aboitiz Foods were Pilmico Vice President for Operations Florencio Sebandal; Alexis Revantad, Assistant Vice President for Flour Operations; and Greg Canoy, CSR Supervisor. World Vision was represented by Elizabeth Delgado, Operations Manager for the Mindanao Field Office, and Ajab Macapagat, Operations Director.
Sebandal emphasized the importance of providing sustainable livelihoods for the community. “At Aboitiz Foods, we believe in building sustainable livelihoods by fostering a growth mindset among our beneficiaries. Through initiatives like this, we empower CoMSCA groups with the tools and knowledge to create lasting impact, ensuring their businesses thrive while contributing to food security and community development,” he said.
As part of the collaboration, Aboitiz Foods will distribute egg production livelihood kits in 2025 to four CoMSCA beneficiaries in Zamboanga del Norte and Misamis Occidental. Each kit will include animal health products, bags of Pilmico Feeds, and 192 ready-to-lay hens. To ensure the project’s long-term success, beneficiaries will also receive technical training and assistance from Aboitiz Foods. This training will equip them with the necessary skills to operate a sustainable poultry business and maximize profitability.
Elizabeth Delgado expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “We are excited to partner with Pilmico in supporting CoMSCA groups in Mindanao. Together, we look forward to seeing these livelihood kits grow into successful and sustainable enterprises for the community.”
