Pilmico joins National Push for Cleaner Communities through DILG’s KALINISAN Program

Apr 24, 2025

Aboitiz Foods upholds its commitment to nourishing the future by providing quality food products and taking meaningful action to reduce environmental impact and promote resource recovery.

In a recent initiative, Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corporation (Pilmico), an Aboitiz Foods company, actively participated in Zero Waste Month this January. Aligned with the theme ‘Integrating Sustainability and Circularity into the Informal Waste Sector,’ Pilmico joined the Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan (KALINISAN) Program, a nationwide effort led by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The KALINISAN Program encourages environmental responsibility through proper solid waste management. Through activities such as cleanup drives, education campaigns, and sustainable waste disposal practices, the program aims to raise awareness and foster active participation in maintaining clean and healthy communities.

Last January, Pilmico team members and volunteers gathered in Barangay Del Carmen, San Fernando, Pampanga. The team collected a total of nine bags of assorted waste, significantly helping in the community’s sanitation and waste reduction efforts. Beyond the waste collection, Pilmico also extended its support by donating 100 bottles of water and 100 pieces of bread to volunteers from the Environmental Management Bureau Regional Office No. III (DENR EMB R3).

This initiative highlights Aboitiz Foods’ ongoing dedication to sustainability, demonstrating that corporate responsibility goes beyond business operations to create a positive, lasting impact for both communities and the environment. By participating in initiatives like KALINISAN, Aboitiz Foods, and Pilmico reaffirm their role in driving sustainability efforts, inspiring individuals and organizations alike to take part in creating a cleaner, greener future.
